Something new has been brewing with Yahoo, called Axis, which is their new internet browser. The cool part of this new browser is that it connects to all your devices and shows the search results with screen shoots of the homepage. This is more functional than Google’s Instant Previews, which only shows a snapshot of the homepage. Google is working and adding new features such as links to important or useful pages to help the users experience.
This should be interesting as Google has recently launched Chrome, so Yahoo’s Axis may have a shot at competing with Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Opera.
You can sync your iPhone, iPad, and desktop together, which is something like the newly released Fifefox Sync. This is only currently available as an app through the iPhone store. Maybe soon Android will market this, but for now it remains in Apple’s hands.
Ethan Batraski, Yahoo special project director, wrote on the company’s search blog that “with a mobile-first focus,” the company “set out to completely re-think and re-design how users search and browse the Web.”
